Knowing that creating art, as well as experiencing someone else's art, is very therapeutic to mental health, it can be very frustrating when our current world seems to be suddenly flooded with AI generated images. It is up for heavy debate whether or not it should be used, supported, or considered dishonest and unethical. This doesn't mean there aren't really great ways to use AI in some small way as a tool to assist you.
What we can all seem to agree on, is how much we love to support real, genuine art just as much as we strongly support small family-owned local businesses.
Recently sprouted in her illustration journey, K. Astor released a few coy and clever little books adorned with her own hand drawn art. Currently showcasing a line of sweet little lined notebooks, personal recipe books to write in, as well as an elegant coloring book that has such a special little splash of humor. And it's all based around chickens!

The coloring book "Hens in Hats" (Click here to view) features simple but pretty portrait frames of real breeds of chickens wearing fashionable hats.
K. Astor's first published illustrated work brings so much joy to the world. Allowing her drawings to remain clearly hand-drawn, it showcases how wonderful raw and imperfect art can be, even in someone's unrefined beginning stages of finding their own artistic style.
This is an extra special creation, given that other than the fonts, all artistic pieces of this book are hand-drawn including the "wallpaper" background on the cover.

This illustrator has put her graphics to work in other paper-back topics, like this simple grunge (but beautiful) blank lined journal featuring the "Deathlayer Hen". (Click here to view)

She is also coming out with a set of books you are able to fill 100 of your own personal recipes!
Gone are the days of printed and lost loose pages of fast and healthy lunches you want to make later, or screen shots of your favorite made-from-scratch dips and sauces. The first in this line is a darling Redcap hen printed onto a graphic of rustic white wood slats. (Click here to view)

Currently, K. Astor's line of coy chicken books are located on Amazon, but this will soon branch out to other merchants such as Barnes and Noble.

It has been reported that currently in the works is a domestic cat line with coloring book, as well as house plants and Jack-O-Lanterns, hopefully all released before August-2025.

K. Astor has been very open to hearing opinions on her work, suggestions for other lines, and to see customers finished coloring pages! Feel free to input honest feedback as well as share your pages on her Instagram - Click Here

Children's Books with Rhyme and Rhythm

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. There's no dispute; reading out loud to our children from baby-hood through high-school (if they let us) has a huge impact in many ways, including your bond and their love for books.  In the early years, what I found not just enjoyable for myself to read, but what really pulled my toddler boys in to a book, is that wonderful almost sing-song style rhythm.  Whenever I find a particular book or author that has accomplished this beautifully, I like to take note of them so I have a perfect arsenal of book ideas to add to a baby-shower gift bag.  As an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases. Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle You truly can't go wrong with a cute little blue pickup truck zooming down the road, saying "hi" with little BEEP's to his farm animal friends. He even gets to help a big dump truck get un-stuck from the mud.  Ricky the Rock that Couldn't Roll by Mr. Jay (Jay Miletsky) Now...
